Press, Neillsville, Wis., February 7, 1924 Page 4 Mrs. John Leopold
after a lingering illness, quietly passed away at her home in the
vicinity of Dells Dam, Monday evening, January 28th. She had
patiently suffered for several years and every aid possible was
administered by the tender hands of loving relatives and friends,
but their efforts could only palliate her suffering till death came
to her release. Paulina, the third
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dimick, was born in New York State,
February 22, 1876, and removed to this state with her parents when
a small girl. Her parents settled near Dells Dam where she grew to
womanhood. She was 47 years, 10 months, and 6 days of age at the
time of her death. She was untied in
marriage to John Leopold on May 21st, 1899 and spent a happy
married life with her husband on the farm where she died. One
daughter, Ferel, came to gladden the home in 1901. Mr. and Mrs.
Leopold were among the best citizens of this county as was
testified by the universal sympathy and help of their neighbors and
friends during her long illness, and when the shadow of death came
to the beloved wife and mother. A wealth of flowers, the fragrant
expression of love from many friends and relatives, beautified the
casket in which rested the remains of this good woman. Though she was a
great sufferer, it was her privilege and joy in life to administer
to the comforts of very many of those with whom she associated. Her
home was unceasing in its hospitality, she was a loving and
faithful wife and mother, a kind neighbor and friend, wise in her
counsels and tender in the ministrations of her hands to all who
needed her help. She will be sadly missed in her home and by a host
of friends who knew her and loved her. She leaves behind
her husband and daughter, Mrs. Erwin Leach, of Greenwood,
Wisconsin, two sisters and one brother; Mrs. F. U. DeLapp, of
Washington, Mrs. Mae Norris of California and T. J. Dimick of
Washington. The sisters and brother were unable to arrive in time
for the funeral. Besides these of her immediate relatives she
leaves many dear friends and relatives to mourn her death. Mrs. W. S. Fagan
of Chicago, who was as a loving sister to the deceased, came
Tuesday of last week to comfort her friend and her family as the
end seemed near. The funeral
services was held from the Dells Dam Presbyterian Church Thursday,
January 31st, at 2:00 p.m. And was largely attended. Rev. Donnell
of Neillsville preached the funeral sermon. The burial was made at
the community cemetery near the church. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
