NEILLSVILLE PRESS (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 08/25/1927 Wittke, Mr./Mrs.
August (50th - 21 Augl 1927) On Sunday, Aug.
21, 1927, Mr. and Mrs. August Wittke, Sr. of Pine Valley, Clark
County, Wis., celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding,
a large gathering of their children and other relatives met at
their home for the event. A fine dinner and supper were served for
all the guests and it was a most happy family reunion. August Wittke and
Ernestina Brandt were married at Tolona, Ill., Aug. 21, 1877. They
were both born in Germany and had known each other there, having
attend school together. After their marriage they lived for a time
at Decatur, Ill., and later at La Salle. About 30 years ago they
came to Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. and have lived in this
locality ever since. Mr. and Mrs. Wittke have been industrious,
honest people doing their full share of the world's work as they
passed along, and it is hoped that they have yet before them a good
many years of comfortable and happy life. Besides the good
wishes, all the guests brought them gifts of gold, one being a gold
ring for each, the gift of their daughter, Mrs. Wilms of Milwaukee,
who could not be present. Mr. and Mrs.
Wittke are the parents of seven children: August Jr. of Pine
Valley; Emma, Mrs. Gus Reichert of Neillsville; Ferdinand of Pine
Valley; Clara, Mrs. Wm. Sievert, deceased; henry, Neillsville;
Herman, Pine Valley; Edna, Mrs. Fred Wilms of Milwaukee. There are
also 12 grandchildren. Among the guests
present Sunday were Mrs. Frank Frost and an uncle of Chicago;
Charlie Hartbank of Racine, and Fred Wittke and family of Cedar
Rapids, Iowa. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
