NEILLSVILLE PRESS (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 12/08/1927 McLean, Mary (23
NOV 1927) Lieutenant Charles
Frederick Cresswell, U. S. Navy, and Miss Mary McLean, daughter of
Captain and Mrs. Norman T. McLean, were married at the home of the
bride's parents at Norfolk, Va., Nov. 23, 1927. It was a military
wedding, about 100 guests being present, mostly relatives and naval
officers. The groom is the
son of Dr. W. B. Cresswell of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. He
grew to manhood here, graduated from Neillsville High School and
secured an appointment as cadet in the U. S. Naval Academy, where
he graduated in 1924. He has since been in the Naval service and is
now stationed at the Army Signal School, Fort Monmouth, N.J. Lieut.
Cresswell has visited here from time to time during his naval
training, and is one of the young men of whom this community is
justly proud. The bride has also
grown up with naval traditions, her father being long a naval
officer and still in the service at the Norfolk Navy yard. She
attended the Wykeham Rise School at Washington, Conn., and the
Garland School, Boston, later taking a trip around the world and
studying for a time in Paris. They will make
their home at Ocean Port, Fort Monmouth, N.J. The Press extends
heartiest congratulations and best wishes. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
