John Wuethrich had six cows in the official test, conducted by a man from the
University of Wisconsin last week. The highest cow made 576 pounds of milk in 7
days, giving as high as 90 pounds in a single day, and made 25.41 pounds of
butter. The lowest one made over 20 pounds of butter in 7 days, or 75 pounds of
milk a day. The average butter for the 7 days was 22.4 pounds.
The tester claims this as the most remarkable test he ever made, as the cows
were not picked from the herd. It was a strict test and six cows were milked
four time a day.
John can sure feel proud of his Holsteins, and if we say he has one of the best
herds in the state, we are putting it mild, as he surely has good ones.
