Lawrence, Agnes (Marriage - 6 Jan. 1926)
Mr. Herman Karlen and Miss Agnes were married at Monroe, Wis., Wednesday, January 6. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Rms. Roy Lawrence of the town of York. For the past year or more she has been employed at the County Asylum in Green County. She is a young lady of fine qualities and is much liked by all her associates.
The groom is an enterprising young farmer, and is highly spoken of by those who know them. The young couple arrived here Thursday for a visit at home of the bride’s parents and with other relatives and friends. The Press extends best wishes to them.
The following is from the Monroe Evening Times.
The marriage of Miss Agnes Lawrence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Lawrence of Neillsville, and Herman G. Karlen, so of Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Karlen, Monticello, was solemnized here at 11 o’clock Jan. 6, 1926. Rev. A. Muchlmeir performed the double ring ceremony.
Miss Sylcia Karlen and Clarence Itten, sister and cousin of the groom were the attendants.
The bride was attired in a gray canton crepe dress and a hat of the same shade. She carried an arm bouquet of roses. Miss Karlen wore a navy blue dress trimmed with gray fur and a corsage bouquet of roses.
Following the ceremony the bridal party motored to Monroe where a wedding dinner was served in the Eugene Hotel. They left on a wedding trip to Neillsville the same afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Karlen will reside on Lake View Dairy Farm, west of Monticello.
The bride attended the Neillsville high school for two years. Mr. Karlen attended the Monticello high school for one year. He is a member of the Reformed Church at Monticello.
