MARATHON CO. FOX FARM MAKES BIG SHIPMENT
The largest single shipment of silver fox furs ever made from Marathon, perhaps the largest ever made in the state, 4,448 pelts valued at close to six hundred thousand dollars, from the Fromm Bros. farm last Friday. They were consigned to a New York concern. Ed and Walter Fromm accompanied the shipment. Part of the shipment, 1168 pelts, belonged to Nieman Bros. And Herbert Fromm who own ranches adjoining Fromm Bros. The animals were all killed during the months of October and November. Fromm Bros sill have at the present time 5,000 foxes on their ranch in the town of Hamburg and other places.
In addition to their immense fox farm they raise a large amount of ginseng and but recently disposed 6,300 pounds of the roots. The ginseng gardens and fox farms require about 75 people in the care and management of the same. Marshfield Herald.
