Mr and Mrs. Geo. Ure spent the Fourth with their son, Melv, at Milwaukee, who is working for the Standard Oil Co., there.

Miss Ells Schwantz and Mr. Clyde Horton returned to Chicago Tuesday after spending a few days with the latter’s parents at Dells Dam.

Mr and Mrs. Free Johnson and son came Monday from Centralia, Wash., to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Johnson of Dells Dam and other relatives.

Ice cream social next Sunday at Albert Barton’s for the benefit of St. Mary’s church. Fr. Edward Aumann came up from Jefferson Tuesday to visit his brother and sisters here.

Mr and Mrs. F. C. Denty and children leave Monday for Chicago and New York to visit friends, and Mr. Denty going also to get the fall styles in men’s clothes.

Chas. Babcock returned home Wednesday morning from Janesville, where he spent a few days with his wife, who is ill at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Will Wallace. He found her doing as well as could be expected.

Mr. R. G. Arnold and son Ed. Arnold and daughter, Miss Alma Arnold, of Glenbeulah are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Clemens. R. G. Arnold is Mrs. Clemen’s father.

Mrs. Otto Kelpin arrived Tuesday evening from Rochester, New York for a visit at the home of her uncle John Blum and with other relatives. It is 6 years since she was here, and she seen many changes.

Jake Marx and Mrs. Barney Haas drove to Eau Claire Saturday and brought back Mr. and Mrs. James Caton and little sons. Mr. Caton returned to Eau Claire Tuesday, the rest of the family remaining for a longer visit.

Rev. H. T. Vriesen and his daughters Gertrude and Esther, of Sheboygan Falls, Wis., Mrs. Sophie Boedecker of Sheboygan Falls, and Miss Emilie Vriesen of Plymouth, Wis., spent the holidays with Rev. and Mrs. C. Hauser. They had spent a week in Iowa and were in route for Greenwood and Stanley.

Tuesday evening a large truck driving through from St. Paul to Stevens Point turned turtle near Wildcat Mound west of Neillsville. The driver was caught and had his leg badly fractured. The ambulance came over from Marshfield and took the injured man to the hospital. The -------Rest cut off.------
