DEATH OF W. H. SMITH

The Press last week received a copy of the St. Helens, Oregon, giving an account of the death of William Harrison Smith, at Houlton, Ore., in his 87th year. He was a soldier of the Civil War and had a most thrilling series of experiences as a soldier. He enlisted at Black River Falls in April, 1861, under Captain Robey. He was married in this state in 1877 to Hattie Vunk. They moved to Houton, Oregon in 1877. Mrs. Smith died in 1898. Two brothers survive him, Fred Smith of Neillsville and W. S. Smith of Garden Grove, California.
