GRANTON -- Winners in various activities from last week-end's Granton Fall
Festival have been announced.
Eric Eibergen took top honors in the FFA olympics contest and tractor rodeo
Friday afternoon. Phil Folyer and Pat Ule won the ag olympics contest. In the
throwing contest, Wade Petit tossed a rock 290 feet and Pat Ule threw a hay bale
26 feet. At the fun show Friday night, Heidi Nick was the winner.
Sisty-seven frogs were entered in the Clark County frog jumping contest. Jeremy
Martin, Chili, won first place; his frog jumped 11 feet, two inches in three
jumps. Second place went to Russell Howard and third place went to Wayne
Fleischman. Cal Langreck won the fishing contest.
In the vegetable show, Dawn Eibergen, Granton, was the winner with a pumpkin
that weighed 125 pounds and measured more than three feet in diameter. Fern Tore
displayed the champion bouquet of flowers.
There were more than 300 participants in the children's portion of Sunday's
parade. The winners were Cheslie Hanson, River Falls and Bradley Rowe, Granton.
Top trophies in the mini-tractor contest were won by Dennis Kuehn, Neillsville;
Duane Becker, Granton; Dean Verch, Chippewa Falls; and Dan Holden, Hager City.
