Sister Jolynn Brehm, principal of St. Anthony's Catholic Parochial School,
Loyal, and a Unity native, has celebrated her 25th anniversary as a nun.
A member of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. Sister Jolyn entered
the convent in 1954 and made her first vows August 12, 1958. Final vows were
made in 1963. She attended Colbyn High School and graduated from St. Rose High
School in La Crosse.
She holds a bachelor's degree from Viterbo College, La Crosse, and a master's
degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie. Since 1959, Sister
Jolynn has taught at Catholic high school and elementary schools in La Crosse,
Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids. She came to Loyal in 1982.
At St. Anthony's, Sister Jolynn has coordinated the parish's Confraternity of
Christian Doctrine education program and been involved in several parish
organizations and activities.
The parish celebrated her silver jubilee September 11 with a Mass and potluck
dinner. Sister Jolynn also observed the anniversary in August when she joined 13
other sisters who made their first vows in 1958. The group spent 12 days
researching the establishment of its order in Milwaukee and then had an
eight-day retreat in Woodruff.
Sister Jolynn's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Behm live on Route 1, Colby. Other
members of her family include Ed and Marilyn Brehm and Tom and Lindy Brehm, all
of Unity; Dennis and Karla Brehm, Marshfield; Gerry and Rachel, Curtiss; and
Mark and Margaret Radloff, Plymouth.
