The Rev. Emil A. Hodnik of 101 Cedar St., Abbotsford, pastor of St. Bernard's
Catholic Church, Abbotsford, since August 24, 1966. will observe the 45th
anniversary of his ordination as a priest September 25.
The celebration will start with a Mass at St. Bernard's Church, followed by a
dinner for the honor guest and his parishioners. Open house will follow at the
Parish Hall with the community and surrounding area invited. The arrangements
were made by the Social Action/Family Life Committee.
Father Hodnik was born June 7, 1910 in Zalec, Slovenia, Yugoslavia. He attended
the Catholic University of Paris, France, from 1931-49 and was ordained
September 24, 1938, Maribor, Yugoslavia.
His assignments were as assistant at Cadott in January 1950; as assistant at
Custer August 9, 1950; as pastor at St. Boniface, Waumandee, February 20, 1962;
pastor of St. John's Belmont, June 30, 1964 and then his Abbotsford assignment.
