(27 Jan 1880 - 9 OCT 1928) Jacob Trachsel, a
prominent and highly respected resident of Humbird, Clark County,
Wis., passed away at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Oct. 9,
1928, aged 48 years, 8 months and 13 days. Mr. Trachsel was
born in Switzerland and came to Wisconsin when a young man, working
at his trade of cheesemaker in Green County. He came to Humbird in
1912. For some time past he was manager of the Humbird Cheese Co.
Mr. Trachsel was a prominent member of the Reformed Church, helped
to organize a church at Postville before coming to Humbird, and was
an Elder in the Humbird Church. He was a charter member of the
Humbird Odd Fellow Lodge and was active in all community
affairs. He leaves his wife
and six children: Fred, Hedwig, Ethel, Martha and Lillian of home
and Emma, Mrs. Wm. Theiler of Humbird, who was a former teacher in
