NEILLSVILLE PRESS (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 11/15/1928 Webster, Mary A.
(1850 - NOV 1928) (San Jose, Calif.
Mercury) The funeral of
Mrs. Mary A. Webster, for many years a resident of Willow Glen,
will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at her home at 1111
Lincoln Av. She died Monday after a serious illness. The Rev.
Channing Richardson will be in charge of the service. Interment
will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Hocking and Williams in charge. Mrs. Webster was
born in Wisconsin 78 years ago, came to San Jose from that state
just 20 years ago with her family. A member of the family had come
to San Jose the preceding year and his stories of Santa Clara
Valley, induced three families, the Websters, the Warners and the
Rogersons to settle in a group on Lincoln Ave. Except for a few
years when she lived with her family in the Moreland district, Mrs.
Webster made her home on Lincoln Ave. She was an active member of
both the Moreland Good Will Club and the Willows Reading Club. She
was an attendant of the Methodist Church. Mrs. Webster and
her husband, Eugene D. Webster, who survives her, celebrated their
fifty-first wedding anniversary on Jan. 1. Other survivors
are two sons, A. R. Webster and Thornton D. Webster of San Jose, a
sister, Mrs. E. H. Warner of San Jose, and a brother, R. W.
