Manthey passed away at her home in the town of Seif, Clark County,
Wis., at 2 o'clock p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, 1928, aged 67 years, 9
months and 19 days. Alvina Zastrow was
born in Germany, Jan. 28, 1861. She came to America at the age of
20 and lived at Peshtigo Harbor, Wis. In 1882 she was married to
Albert Manthey. They lived at Peshtigo Harbor for seven years and
then moved to the town of Seif, Clark County in 1890, which has
been their home ever since. Mrs. Manthey is
survived by her husband and five children: Emil, who lives in
California; Helen, Mrs. M. F. Gall of Minneapolis; George, William
and Arthur at home; two daughters, Mary and Elsie are deceased. Mrs. Manthey was a
good woman in every way. A loving wife and mother and a kind
neighbor. She will be greatly missed in the home and the
community. The funeral was
held Tuesday afternoon at Globe Lutheran Church, Rev. Motzkus
