(5 JUN 1850 - 6 Dec 1928) Mrs. Herman Yankee
of the town of Lynn, Clark County, Wis., died at her home in that
town Dec. 6, 1928, after a brief illness of two weeks. Deceased, whose
maiden name was Louise Charlotte Dorothy Richert, was born in
Prussia, Germany, June 5, 1850. When eighteen years of age she came
to America with her parents. For a time they made they home at
Sparta, later moving….(some of my copy was cut off) Mrs. Yankee passed
through all the hardships of pioneer experience and doing her more
than half a century in the town of Lynn had done well her part in
home and community life. The funeral was
held Saturday, Dec. 8, Rev. Wilson Mallory officiating. Burial took
place in the town of Lynn Cemetery. The pallbearers were Otto,
Carl, Amos, and Arthur Yankee, Herman Wagner and Charles Anding.
The flower girls were Nellie Johnson, Violet Schafer, Mildred Rach
and Erma Anding, granddaughters. The floral tributes were beautiful
and bespoke the love and esteem of many friends. Those from away
who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schlaver and
daughter, and Miss Richard of Sparta; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wagner of
