Bast, Marcellus E. (1897? - 17 Jan 1929)

Marcellus E. Bast, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bast of this city (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.), after two years of failing health, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 1929, aged 31 years.

Deceased was born in Marshfield, and at the age of 7 years came to Neillsville with his parents. He grew to manhood here and attended Neillsville schools. Two years ago his health began to fail and although he received treatment from the best physicians both locally and at Eau Claire, Madison and Rochester, no permanent relief was secured.

He leaves his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bast, one sister, Stella, Mrs. Ben Frantz, and one brother, Ed Bast, all of Neillsville, and one brother, John of Eau Claire.

The funeral was held at St. Mary's Church in Neillsville Monday morning, Rev. Fr. Weber officiating. The body was taken to Marshfield, the former home of the family, for burial.

Mrs. Mike Bast of Wausau, an aunt, also the brother, John Bast of Eau Claire, were her to attend the funeral.
