NEILLSVILLE PRESS (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 01/31/1929 Cook, Vivian
(1913? - Jan 1929) (Shelton, Wash.
Exchange) Vivian Cook, aged
15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cook, former resident of
Centralia, died yesterday in a Shelton hospital of burns received
Sunday when she attempted to put a kettle of water on a heater and
her nightdress caught fire. Mrs. Cook, owner of a restaurant near
the family home in Shelton, saw the blaze and rushing to the house,
smothered the flames, but not until the girl had been burned from
her knees to her head. The mother herself was burned about the
hands. The Cook family
moved to Shelton about a year ago. They formerly lived at
Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. The girl's body was brought here
and is at the Stricklin mortuary pending funeral arrangements. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
