Poehnelt, Dorine A. (- 2022)
Dorine A. Poehnelt, age 73, of De Pere, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at
Unity Hospice in De Pere.
Dorine was born March 6, 1949, the daughter of Harlan and Margaret (Schilling)
Witt in Marshfield and raised on the family farm. She was united in marriage to
David C. Poehnelt on April 29, 1967.
Dorine loved the simple things in life. Going for a walk on a warm summer day,
planting lots of flowers every spring, watching them bloom, feeding, and
watching the birds. Dorine had a great love of animals and always had cats and
horses from an early age. One of her biggest joys was riding horse which she did
throughout her entire life. Dorine had the biggest heart and compassion for
animals and wanted to save every stray animal she ever found.
Dorine is survived by her daughter, Patti Poehnelt of De Pere, and her brother,
Dennis Witt of Loyal. She is further survived by her nieces and nephew, Juanita
Osborne of Cleburne TX, Amber Elsenpeter of Buffalo, MN, and DeLaine Laski of
Baraboo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donald, and her
ex-husband.
The family thanks Unity Hospice and all the care and compassion they showed
Dorine during her final days. They are truly the angels walking among us daily.
We also thank Cardiology Associates for all the care they provided Dorine during
her final years.
Per Dorine's request there will be no formal service.
