NEILLSVILLE PRESS (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 04/04/1929 Wegner, Gottlieb
(1 Jul 1844 - 27 Mar 1929) Gottlieb Wegner
died on Wednesday, March 27, 1929, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Hemp, at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 27 days. He had enjoyed
good health all his life, but about a year ago a heart ailment
gradually commenced to undermine his strength. About four months
ago the effect of the disease became noticeable and caused his
death last Wednesday. Gottlieb Wegner
was born in Germany on July 1, 1844 and spent 43 years of his life
there. He then came to America and settled in Clark County, Wis.,
being employed at various places and occupations until about twenty
years ago, when he went to live with his niece, Mrs. Fred Hemp, and
at whose home he died. He had never married and all his brothers
and sisters have preceded him in death. He was a very active and
industrious man, kindly and charitable, and was respected by all
who came to know him. He leaves many relatives and friends to mourn
his demise. The funeral was
held last Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rev. Bauman
officiating. He was laid to rest at the side of his two brothers in
Pine Valley Cemetery. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
