Asplin, Wallace O. (24 Mar 1885 - 20 Mar 1929)

Wallace Oren Asplin was born in Thompson Valley, near Augusta, Wis., March 24, 1885, and died at San Fernando, Calif., March 20, 1929, at the age of 43 years, 11 months and 26 days.

When a young boy he moved with his parents to Tioga, Clark County, Wis., where he lived until he accepted a position as brakeman on the railroad, which he held for many years.

In 1927 he enlisted with the Massachusetts Engineer Corps and served his country in France during the world war, returning to America in 1919. On March 9, 1920, he was united in marriage to Miss Vera Kirkham of Augusta, Wis.

For many years he had been in poor health, during which time he lived in Colorado, Nevada and other states, hoping to regain his health by a change of climate.

Besides his wife, he leaves to mourn his departure, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Asplin of Neillsville; Mrs. Cleve Evans of Neillsville and Edith Pugh of Davenport, Wash.; three brothers, Clinton and Charles of Neillsville, and James of Owen; also many friends.
