(1855? - 9 Jul 1929) Bernard F. Rusch,
one of the old residents of Thorp, Clark County, Wis., was struck
by a car while walking from the village to his farm home last week
Monday night. The autoist left him unconscious by the roadside,
where he was found by George Haas who lives south of Thorp. Mr.
Rusch was taken to the hospital at Chippewa Falls where he died the
next day. Deceased was 74
years old. He came to Thorp in an early day and was in business
there for a number of years, then moved to his farm close to the
south village limits. For a time he
lived in Montana, where he owned a large tract of land. Later he
came back to Thorp and developed his farm into one of the best in
the county. He married Miss
Elza Steele of the town of Warner, Clark County, who survives him.
He leaves also two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Greene of St. Paul and Miss
Susan at home, and one son, Bernard, on the farm adjoining his
father's. The funeral was
