Hein, Joseph (2 JUN 1895 - 4 Augl 1929)

Joseph Hein, son of Tony Hein of Grand Rapids, Minn., died of tumor of the brain, Sunday morning at the Minn. Veterans Hospital at St. Cloud, Minn. He was 34 years, 2 months and 2 days old. Joseph was born here and when a small child his parents moved from Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., and he was never here again during his life.

When this country entered the World War Joseph was in the Regular Army, a member of Co. H., 37th U. S. Infantry, and saw a great deal of service overseas. Due to this service he was totally incapacitated and for the past eight years had been a patient in the Veterans Hospital. His body was brought to Neillsville Monday, accompanied by his father and step-mother, and funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tuesday morning, Rev. Weber officiating.

Besides Mr. and Mrs. Hein those from away to attend the funeral were Miss Clara Hein of St. Paul. Peter Hein and Miss Frances Hein of Tony, Wis., and Frank Hein of Ladysmith.
