NEILLSVILLE PRESS (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 10/24/1929 Johnson, Maynard
(29 Mar 1898 - 17 OCT 1929) Maynard Johnson, a
young farmer of west Pine Valley, Clark County, Wis., died at
Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Thursday, Oct. 17, 1929, after
a short illness. Maynard Johnson
was born in the town of Saxville, Waushara Co., Wis., March 29,
1898, and was 31 years, 6 months and 18 days old at the time of his
death. He came to
Neillsville with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnson about 11
years ago. A few years later they bought the Dave Wood farm in Pine
Valley and carried on the place together until the death of his
father in Sept. 1925. Since that time Maynard continued in charge
of the farm. He was married to
Miss Ellen Olson of Neillsville, June 20, 1928. One child was born
to this union, who preceded him in death May 25, 1929. Maynard Johnson
was an unusually fine type of young man. From boyhood he had an
intense interest in farming, and devoted his energies to learning
and practicing the best methods of crop culture and dairying, in
which he was very successful. His upright character, industry and
fine personality won for him the respect and admiration of all who
knew him. His death is a sad blow, not alone to his young wife and
widowed mother, but to the entire community. Few deaths in recent
years have brought forth so many expressions of sympathy. Besides his wife
and mother, he leaves many more distant relatives, all of whom
sincerely mourn his death. The funeral was
held Saturday afternoon at the Congregational Church, Rev. G. W.
Longenecker officiating. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
