Eugene W. Endries, 71, Spencer, died on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at his home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Rev. Karl Rose officiated. Burial was in Trinity Cemetery, town of Brighton. Pallbearers were Gerald Endries, Herbert Endries, David Endries, Tom Danko, John Zenner and Cary Hildebrandt.
Eugene Walter Endries was born on Oct. 24, 1930, to John and Elizabeth [nee Joblan] Endries. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1948. He married Lucille Pischer on Aug. 22, 1964, at Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. His interests included gardening, fishing, hunting, the outdoors and playing cards.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon [Kevin] Beyreis, Spencer, and Karin [Mark] Komis, Spencer; one son, John [Kathy] Endries, Spencer; eight grandchildren, Katie and Cora Beyreis, levi, Logan and Landon Komis, James Endries, and Kasey and Aleisha Mueller; and one brother, Marvin [Alberta] Endries, Spencer.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Lucille, on April 25, 2001; one daughter, Denise; and two sisters, Mildred Kohl and Blanche Stargardt.
Community Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family with arrangements.
