(19 JUN 1929) One of the leading
social events of the season at Granton, Clark County, Wis., took
place June 19, 1929, when Leona Frances Gluch, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Dan Gluch, town of Grant, became the bride of Arnold
Sternitzky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sternitzky of the town of
Lynn, Clark County. The ceremony was performed at 7 o'clock in Zion
Lutheran Church at Grant by the pastor, Rev. J. G. Buth. The
wedding march was played by Mrs. Buth. The bride wore a
dress of white satin combined with lace and threads of gold and was
made with a fitted bodice and full skirt. The long tulle veil, lace
edged, was held in place with clusters of orange blossoms and a
narrow band of rhinestones. The bride carried a shower bouquet of
roses and snapdragons. Her attendants included Miss Maurine Davis
of Granton, as maid of honor and Miss Adelia Garbisch, a cousin of
the bride, both of whom wore georgette frocks, the former a pale
pink and other a pale green. Both carried arm bouquets of pink and
white peonies. The groom was attended by the bride's brother,
Ronald Gluch, as best man and by his brother, Herbert
Sternitzky. Following the
ceremony an informal reception was held at the bride's home, at
which about 125 people attended. The home was decorated with cut
flowers and streamers of pink and white. The table waitresses who
were dressed in white, were the Misses Anita Helm, Leona Moh,
Florence Garbisch, Viola Adams, Florence Stelloh, Ruth Sternitzky
and Edna and Leona Goeble. Both young people
are well known in their home communities and highly esteemed. The
bride is graduate of the Granton High School and has lived at home
practically all her life. The groom owns a fine farm adjoining that
of his father and has been operating both places since his father
engaged in the feed business in Lynn. Those present from
away were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Reed of Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
Adams and family of Globe; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stelloh and family of
Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schultz of Milwaukee. The bridal
pair left for Minnesota for a wedding trip and will be home after
July 10th on the groom's farm. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
