COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 07/21/1921 Courter, George W.
(13 NOV 1843 - 11 Jul 1921) George W. Courter,
a Civil War veteran, died at the home of his son, Wm. Courter, in
the town of Reseberg, Clark County, Wis. on July 11, 1921, at the
age of 79 years and 7 months. Mr. Courter was born in New Jersey,
Nov. 13, 1843 and came to Plymouth, Wis. in 1847. At the age of
eighteen he enlisted in the civil war and served to the end.
Returning to Plymouth he was united in marriage to Miss Lottie
Crane. To this union five children were born, three children and
his wife preceding him in death. In 1875 he came to Thorp with his
family and has since resided in this vicinity. Funeral services
were held at the Congregational Church in Reseberg., Rev. E. Cl
Clark of Owen officiating, interment taking place in the nearby
cemetery. He leaves to mourn two sons, William and George Courter,
