Stier, Christiana (15 NOV 1843 - 16 Sep 1921)

Christiana Beyreis was born in Germany Nov. 15, 1843. She was united in marriage to August Stier in 1862 and together they came to America in 1865. To them were born five children, four of whom survive, August Stier and Mrs. W. M. Lawrence of Plymouth, Wis.; Mrs. R. G. Prang of Oakland, Calif.; and Mrs. Chas. E. Reed of this city. One son died in young manhood and Mr. Stier was called to the Great Beyond some 23 years ago. Mrs. Stier spent the greater portion of her life in Plymouth and Kiel, Wis. Eleven years ago she came to Clark County, Wis., where she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Reed, ever since.

On Friday evening, Sept. 16, 1921, after a week of illness, she passed on into the better world at the ripe old age of 77 years, 10 months and 1 day. She leaves to cherish her memory her four children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, also a great company of friends who held her in the highest esteem and affection. She was a member of the German Reformed Church and an active worker so long as she had the strength. Her earthly life is closed but the fragrance of her personality will continue as an abiding influence in the lives of those who knew her.

Brief memorial services were held at the house Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of Rev. F. G. Elwick of the Methodist Church. Interment was made and funeral services held at Kiel, Wis.
