Kuehl, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kuehl, was killed suddenly about
nine o'clock on Saturday morning last at his farm home in the town
of Hixon, Clark County, Wis., southwest of Withee, by a charge of
dynamite while engaged in blasting stumps. He was born in the town
of Worden, Clark County on March 31, 1892, and grew to manhood
here. On Aug. 15, 1923 he was united in marriage to Miss Maud
Winterer of the town of Butler and soon after purchased the farm
where he has since resided. He was a man with a host of friends and
well liked by all. He leaves to mourn his untimely death, his wife,
parents, Mrs. and Mrs. John Kuehl, brothers, Hugo of Thorp, Theo.
Of Valley City, N.D., August and George of Thorp, and one sister,
Miss Agnes Kuehl of St. Paul, all of who were present at the
funeral, which took palce from the M. E. Church here on Tuesday
afternoon, Rev. J. A. Benson officiating. Burial followed the
services in the Thorp Village Cemetery. Deceased faithfully
discharged his duties by serving during the World War and many
ex-servicemen and local Legion members attended the funeral. The
pallbearers selected from among his friends were as follows: Peter
and Emil Hanks, Charles Henkins, Max Schultz and Robert and Casper
