SEP 1837 - 10 May 1925) Mrs. Mary Duffy,
wife of the late J. C. Duffy, died at the Rutledge Home at Chippewa
Falls on Sunday, May 10, 1925, aged eighty-eight years and eight
months. Deceased was born at Waddington, N.Y., on Sept. 10, 1837.
She was united in marriage to J. C. Duffy at Augusta, Wis., in 1880
and came to Thorp, Clark County, Wis. in 1882. With the exception
of a few years spent at the Veterans Home at Waupaca and the past
year at Chippewa Falls, Thorp has been her home. She leaves no
known relatives. Her path through life was marked with deeds of
kindness and cheer, bravely meeting the stern requirements and
often the disappointments of life. Her remains were brought here
for burial and the funeral took place from St. Bernard's Church on
Wednesday morning, followed by interment beside her husband in the
