COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 07/30/1925 Weber, Max (16 OCT
1854 - 20 Jul 1925) Mr. Max Weber died
at his home in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Monday,
July 20, 1925. For several weeks past he suffered severely with a
cancer located in his throat. His affliction was discovered nearly
a year ago and his condition continued to grow gradually worse
until a few weeks ago, when all hope for his recovery was
abandoned. Deceased was an exemplary citizen, had served this
village as assessor for several terms and united sound sense with
strong convictions and a candid, outspoken, temper in performance
of his duties as an official. He was born on Oct. 16, 1854, and
arrived in this country on March 4, 1884, and became a citizen of
Thorp during the same year. On Nov. 7, 1892, he was united in
marriage to Mrs. M. Mertens. He is survived by his wife and one
son, Frank X. Weber, of Madison, Wis., Irma, Olga, and Oscar
Mertens of Thorp. The funeral took
place on Thursday morning last from St. Bernard's Church, Father
Muckerheide officiating, interment following the services in the
