Violet R. Blaney

Violet Blaney, age 86, of Granton, died Sunday, Feb. 29, at her home on Granton Road.

Violet R. Blaney was born on Jan. 22, 1918 in Granton, the daughter of John H. and Lilly L. (Garbisch) Gluch. She attended school in Granton and graduated from Neillsville High School. She was united in marriage to George Blaney on Feb. 27, 1944, in Chicago, Ill. They lived in Chicago and McHenry, Ill., where Violet worked as an assembler and inspector at the Bell & Howell movie projector factory. They moved back to Granton in 1979.

She is survived by a nephew, Anthony (Susan) Gluch and a niece, Diane Lacey of Algonquin, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Everett Brown of Granton; and a special friend, Nolberta Nelson of Wheeling, Ill.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, two sisters, and one brother.

Funeral services for Violet will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 4, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Gesche Funeral Home.

Casket bearers are Mark Garbisch, Wally Garbisch, Tim Steinbach, Nels Nelson, Anthony Gluch, and Matthew Steinbach.

The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Violet's family with arrangements.
