Kleinschmidt, Norbert W. (29 August 1931 – 6 May 2022)

Norbert W. Kleinschmidt, age 90, of Chili, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022, in the care of his family.

Norbert was born August 29, 1931, the son of Edward and Ida (Fenske) Kleinschmidt. On April 25, 1951, Norbert was united in marriage to Dorothy Schultz at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bakerville. Together they farmed on the Kleinschmidt family farm. He also worked at Path Finder in Spencer, as well as Heavy Equipment work for Roger Haske.

Norbert was a life time member of the Southern Clark County Conservation Club. He was also a member of Christ The King Catholic Parish. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and hatching his own chickens.

Norbert is lovingly survived by his children: Scott Kleinschmidt and Sara (Thomas) Fern; a brother: Roy Kleinschmidt; as well as his grandchildren: Monica (Tom) Paul and Amy (Justin) Gorst. He is further survived by his great grandchildren: Autumn and Eric Gorst, Joshua and Hailey Paul. He will truly be missed.

Norbert is preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Ida; as well as his wife Dorothy; siblings: Guy (Bea) Kleinschmidt, Silas (Evelyn) Kleinschmidt, Idora (Herb) Fenske, Glen (Lilas) Kleinschmidt; as well as a sister-in-law: Lucille Kleinschmidt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Christ The King Catholic Church in Spencer. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will take place at St Stephens Catholic Cemetery in Chili.
