Pawlak, Walter (1 DEC 1899 - 17 OCT 1929)

Walter Pawlak of the town of Longwood, Clark County, Wis., was seriously injured in an automobile accident near the Lone Oak Cheese Factory eight miles east of Thorp on Wednesday evening of last week. He was taken to the hospital at Chippewa Falls where he died the next morning. Deceased was born in Poland on Dec. 1, 1899, and had reached the age of 29 years, 10 months and 16 days. He came to Thorp with his parents in 1906 and in June 1921 was united in marriage to Miss Martha Patchkowski, who survives him. He also leaves three children, Leon 6, Benjamin 5, and Blanche 1 1/2 years old, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Pawlak of Thorp, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Shondeen of Minneapolis, Mrs. Stella Gronek of Thorp, and six brothers, Joseph, Frank of Thorp, Steve of Withee, John of Milwaukee, Michael and Andrew of Thorp.

The funeral took place on Saturday morning last from St. Hedwig's Church, Father Francis Kulig officiating, interment following the services in the nearby cemetery.
