Louis S. Slowiak, 87, 135 2nd Ave., Stanley, WI, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, WI.
Louis was born Sept. 8, 1914 in the town of Thorp, Clark County, WI. He grew up in and attended Junction area schools. He then served in the U.S. Air Corp during World War II. He married Sally Klisiewicz on Oct. 12, 1946. After their marriage they lived and farmed in the town of Thorp until 1977 when they moved to the City of Stanley, WI, and have resided there since. He was a member of the Holy Family Parish.
Surviving are his wife Sally Slowiak of Stanley; children: Father Allan Slowiak of Rothschild, WI, Bernard (Linda) Slowiak and Clarence (Barbara) Slowiak, both of Stanley, WI, Mary (John) Snider of Stoddard, WI, Christ (Cary) Almberg of Stanley, WI, Dean (Donna) Slowiak of Thorp, WI; plus 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also by one sister Rose (Alix) Sliwka of Stanley and two brothers: Joseph (Claudette) Slowiak of Phoenix, AZ and Julian (Delores) Slowiak of Cadott, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Blanche and Stella, and 4 brothers: Stanley, Frank, Leo and Henry, plus 2 siblings in infancy.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002 at Holy Catholic Church, Stanley, WI, with Father Robert Nelson officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Visitation was at Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, WI on Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
