Newman, Charles F. (21 Jul 1847 - 4 Jan 1923)

Charles Frederick Newman died at his home in the village (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) on Thursday, Jan. 4, 1923 at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 19 days.

He was born in Brandenburg, Germany, July 21st, 1847 and came to America in 1871. In 1875 he was married to Miss Clarissa Roehr of Plymouth. To this union was born nine children, six sons and three daughters. His wife and one son and one daughter preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his loss, five sons and two daughters, who are as follows, Walter J., Henry C., Elmer A., Godfrey L. and Mrs. Rose Brussow of Loyal, Mrs. J. H. Rossow of Beaver and Charles F. of Bloomer, Wis.

Mr. Neuman lived on a farm 1 1/2 miles from Loyal until 1913, when he moved to the village, where he has since resided. He was a loving father and kind friend and neighbor and will be sadly missed by those who knew him best.

The funeral services were held at the Methodist Church on Monday afternoon, Rev. J. H. Chatterson officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery.
