Robinson, Burton (Jun 1910 - JUN 1923)

Three hours after he went swimming in the Dells pond, the lifeless body of Burton Robinson was taken from the bottom of the reservoir by members of the fire department searching crew. The body was found last evening at 7 o'clock. The lad would have been 12 years old next Monday.

According tot he boy's mother, Burton left home early in the afternoon intending to go to the YMCA to take a swimming lesson. For some reason or other he did not swim at the YMCA, but chose to go into the Dells pond alone. As the bank drops off abruptly at the point where the body was found, it is apparent that he waded out over his depth and sank. He was unable to swim a stroke.

When the body was found it was too late to even make an attempt to save it with the lung motor. The boy and his parents have lived in the city about a month. They formerly lived on a farm near Greenwood, Clark County, Wis. Mr. Robinson is employed at the Gillette Rubber Co. (Eau Claire Leader)

Mr. Robinson and family have many friends in and around Loyal who sympathize with them in the loss of their son.
