Schmidt, Carl (28 NOV1840 - 12 Sep 1923)
Carl Schmidt, a resident of Clark County, Wis. for the past forty-three years, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 1923, at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 14 days.
He was born in Germany in 1840; in 1880 he moved his family to Clark County and settled in the town of Loyal, where he lived until 1914 when he moved tot he town of Beaver, where he lived until his death.
He was married Sept. 20, 1868 to Miss Wilhelmina Brussow.
Tot his union five children were born: William, Charles, Amelia, Anna and Gusta. His wife and son William died in 1901 and daughter Mrs. Peter Schoch in 1912.
He leaves to mourn his loss, two daughters, one son, twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Schmidt was a man that was respected by all and was a kind neighbor.
The funeral services were held at the house at 1:30 Saturday afternoon, Rev. Knaak officiating. He was laid to rest in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
