Clifford Stevens died at Owen, Clark County, Wis., Sunday, April 20, 1924, at the age of 50 years, 6 months and 14 days. While it was known he was not in the best of health, still his death came as a shock to the relatives and old friends here.

Clifford Stevens was born at Spokeville, Clark County, Wis., Oct. 6, 1873, and was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Stevens, pioneers of this county. Nearly all of his life was spent in the vicinity where he was born, and on Oct. 19th, 1905 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Schmidt. Two daughters were born to this union: Alta and May, who survive him. He is also survived by his mother and sister, Mrs. O. W. Lundgren, both of Port Wing, Wis.

The deceased had many friends and was respected by all who knew him. He was a good neighbor, always ready to speak a good word to those he came in contact with.

The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. W. J. James officiating. The Modern Woodmen attended in a body. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.

The relatives from away who attended the funeral were: Mrs. O. W. Lundgren, Port Wing, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stevens, Mrs. Renne and son, Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Stevens of Veefkind and Mrs. Emily Stevens of Greenwood.
