Mr. John Lemke, for many years a resident of the town of Sherman, Clark County, Wis., died at his home Tuesday, Aug. 26th, 1924. Mr. and Mrs. Lemke had just moved to this village when he passed away.
John Lemke was born Oct. 4, 1863 in the town of Newton, Manitowoc Co., Wis. He was married to Louise Grauman Oct. 15, 1885. To this union was born five children, of these one son passed away twelve years ago.
In the year 1898 he moved his family to Loyal and purchased a farm in the town of Sherman where he lived until his death.
He was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church where he served as a trustee, serving always as best he knew how.
He is survived by his beloved wife and four children: Otto and Henry Lemke, Mrs. H. Kadolph and Mrs. Martha Wehrman. There still remains his step-father and eight step-sisters and six grandchildren. Mr. Lemke attained the age of 60 years, 10 months and 21 days.
