Schultz, Warren Gene (27 April 1945 - 15 May 2022)
Warren G. Schultz, 77, of Thorp, formerly of New Berlin, passed away at his home
on Sunday, May 15, 2022.
Warren Gene Schultz was born on April 27, 1945, in Wausau, the son of Walter R.
and Eleanor E. (Hoeppner) Schultz. He was raised in Wausau until his family
moved to Milwaukee when he was young. While in high school, he had a passion for
drag racing, building his own hotrods and racing during the summers. Warren
completed his education in Milwaukee, graduating from Pulaski High School in
1963. Following high school, he went to work for the Milwaukee Road Railroad.
Warren later married his second wife, Terrie Draeger on October 23, 1999, in
West Allis. Warren retired from the railroad April 30, 2005, as a locomotive
engineer, and moved to the Town of Butler, rural Thorp, where he built his
retirement home. He spent his days in the outdoors that he loved, hunting and
fishing.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Thorp, a member of the NRA, and
loved hunting and watching NASCAR.
His family and friends were very special to him, especially his children and
grandson; sisters Germayne and Bernice; nieces Christal, Valerie, and Ann and
nephew Jay; his hunting buddies Jay, Joe, Jimmy, Wally and Mike; and his
neighbors.
Warren is survived by his two children: Natalie Scott of Mt. Pleasant, and
Gerald Schultz of West Allis; one grandson: Zachary Scott; and one sister:
Germayne Schulz of White Bear Lake, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents;
his wife, Terrie; and one sister: Bernice Dowden.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at St.
Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp. Visitation will be held at the church, on
Saturday, from 12 p.m. until time of service.
