Colby High School will hold its commencement ceremony Friday, May 27, 2022 at 7 p.m. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held on the high school track and football field. In the event of inclement weather, the festivities will be moved indoors to the high school gymnasium.

The valedictorian of the 2022 graduating class is Richard Streveler. Richard is the son of Brian and Sara Streveler of Colby. He is pursuing a postsecondary degree at a Wisconsin University and his major is currently undecided. Streveler was involved in a host of clubs and sports as a student at Colby.

He led the Colby boys’ basketball team to the playoffs and was voted Cloverbelt Conference player of the year. He also participated in cross country and track. Streveler was elected the student council president for the 2021-22 school year and reported to the Colby School Board during its monthly meetings.

The salutatorian is Fabiola Castillo. She is the daughter of Santa Clara Castillo of Dorchester. In the fall, Fabiola will be attending UW-Madison while pursuing a major in political science.
