Vogel, Charles (15 OCT 1853 - 3 OCT 1924)

Charles Vogel died at his home in this village (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) on Friday, Oct. 3, 1924 after an illness of over a year.

The deceased was born in Milwaukee Oct. 15, 1853, where he lived until he came to Manitowoc, where they lived with the exception of two years spent in Hewitt, until they moved to Loyal in 1892.

To this union was born eighteen children, twelve of who survive with the mother. The children are as follows: Charles of Montana, Frank of Hein, George, Henry, Matt, Joe and Louie of Loyal. Mrs. Anna Clouse of Beaver, Mrs. Maggie Welch of Wibeau, Mont., Mrs. Eva Phipps of Hein, Mrs. Carrie Robinson, Esmo, Mont. and Mrs. Kate Scheel of Unity.

Besides his immediate family he leaves fifteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one brother, John Vogel of Ritsville, Wis.

Mr. Vogel was a carpenter by trade and was an industrious and a hard working man. Mr. Vogel was the builder of the Catholic Church in this village and B. Christman's first mill.

The funeral services were held at the Catholic Church on Monday morning, Oct. 7th, Rev. Stenz officiating. Interment was in the Catholic Cemetery.
