Devlin, Bridget (22 Dec 1837 - 27 Feb 1918)
Mrs. Bridget Devlin died at her home in this village after an illness of over a year, on Wednesday Feb. 27th at the age of 80 years.
She was born in Ireland Dec. 22nd 1837 and came with her parents to Jersey City when eight years old. She later lived in Mayville and Iron Ridge, and for twenty-seven years lived in Minn., coming to Loyal 18 years ago.
On Oct. 16th 1865 she was united in marriage to Mr. John Devlin.
She was the mother of twelve children, all of whom have preceded her in death except one son, Henry, who lives in Cal.
She leaves to mourn her loss, besides the one son, five sisters two of whom Mrs. Margaret Rogers and Mrs. Ellen Devlin are residents of Loyal.
The deceased was a kind neighbor and friend, always ready to lend a helping hand in time of need, to both in acts of kindness and in words. During the year she was confined in her bed, she was unusually patient.
The funeral services were held at the Catholic church on Saturday morning, Rev. Joseph F. Stenz officiating. She was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery.
