Chris, Jeffrey C. (29 April 1966 – 18 May 2022)
Jeffrey C. Chris, age 56, of Abbotsford, passed away surrounded by his family on
Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at his home under the tender care of Heartland Hospice.
Jeff was born on April 29, 1966, the son of Clarence and Rosemary (Apfelbeck)
Chris in Marshfield. He graduated from Abbotsford High School. Jeff worked on
the family farm until his health would not allow him to.
Jeff enjoyed riding his Harley-Davison Motorcycle, snowmobiling, hunting,
fishing and camping. He was an avid Packer fan and was member of the Frankfort
Freedom Riders. Jeff was great friend and brother and will be missed by his
family and friends.
Jeff is survived by his four siblings: Pam (Gary) Leichtman of Dorchester, Mary
(Grant) Burger, Cathy (Kenneth) Horacek and David all of Athens; seven nieces
and nephews and 11 great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings at birth, Charles and
Joan.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022, at
the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. A Private Mass of Christian
Burial will be held for the family at St. Mary Help of Christian Parish in
Colby. Father Joseph Redfern will officiate. Interment will take place at the
Abbotsford Public Cemetery.
