Prust Family, John
John Prust was born May 15, 1889, in the Town of Fremont, Clark County, Wis. In 1914 John bought forty acres of land in Section 9 in Fremont Township.
He served in the Army in World War I for two years. On Nov. 8, 1921 he was married to Louise Beilke, who also lived in the Town of Fremont. In 1924 a new house was built. They bought two hundred acres adjoining their property. Here is where they raised their family of five children, three girls and two boys, Viola, Edna, Robert, Dorothy and Harold.
In 1952 they retired and rented the farm to their son Robert. The house burned in 1955 and another one was built that same year. In 1956 their son purchased the farm.
John was a carpenter all of his life and also served as school clerk for the Valley View School for a number of years.
They moved to Section 15 in 1952, where they lived until his death on Oct. 27, 1965. Mrs. John (Louise) Prust still lives in Section 15.
