Johnson Family, Grant
Grant Johnson was born March 9, 1895 in the Town of Grant, Clark County, Wis., son of Fernando and Ida Johnson. My parents purchased 160 acres of timber in the Town of Fremont, Clark county in the year 1899. We moved to this location in 1900. I have lived in the Town of Fremont ever since. On March 11, 1917, I was married to Nora Murphy. We stated farming in 1918, and have been farming since that time. We have three children, all married, Marian (Mrs. Carl Elmhorst) of Marshfield, William of Milton, Wis., and Elaine (Mrs. Rueben Anderegg) of Route 1, Granton, Wis. We have eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. At present we are living one mile south of Chili on a forty-acre farm. We have hogs and chickens, garden, and grain and corn for crops.
