Hebert Family, Elliot F.
I (Elliot Hebert) was born Oct. 31, 1896, to Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hebert of Sheboygan Co., Wis. When I was a small boy we moved to the Town of Lynn, Clark County, Wis. I was one of the oldest of 15 children and got my education at the Mayflower School. When I was 14 years old, I worked as a stonemason, along with my father and older brother.
Winters were spent in logging camps in Ashland and Riplinger, Wis. I served during World War I at Fort Sheridan, Ill.
I married Miss Katherine A. Bauer of Loyal, Clark County, Wis. in 1919, and moved to a farm in the town of Lynn. There were three children, Arlene (Mrs. Grant Fisher), Hazel Jonas, and Perry.
We moved to Chili, Clark County, where I worked on the railroad. I later opened a blacksmith shop and operated it until my retirement in 1971.
Mrs. Hebert died in 1971 and I am making my home in Neillsville at the Memorial Home. I have nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
