Philpott, Clara (24 Apr 1860 - 2 Mar 1926)
Mrs. Harry Philpott passed away at Chippewa Falls, March 2nd, 1926, after a short illness, death being due to pneumonia. The remains were placed in a vault at Chippewa Falls and brought to Loyal, Clark County, Wis. Thursday May 20 for burial. After a short service at the grave, at which a number of her friends were present, interment took place beside her husband in the Loyal Cemetery.
Miss Clara Bangs was born at Wauconda, Ill., April 24, 1860. In the year 1898 she was united in marriage to Rev. Harry Philpott at Whitehall, Wis. For four years she assisted him in his active ministry at charges which he served, which were Modana and Sechlerville, and moved to Loyal from the latter place in the fall of 1902. Mr. Philpott died in 1910 and in 1915 she left Loyal, living for a time in Augusta and also in Illinois. Mrs. Philpott was an active Christian, always ready to do anything at all times to advance the cause of Christianity. She did a wonderful work for the children in the place she lived. She was unusually gifted in knowing how to work with them, especially was that true in Junior League and Sunday School work. Hers was a busy, helpful life and her memory will long be cherished by those who knew her best.
