Beaver, John (1850 - 22 May 1927)

John Beaver was born in Tier, Germany in 1850 and died on Sunday, May 22nd, 1927 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joe Wedl.

He came with his parents to this country when only twelve years old. On July 17, 1872 he was united in marriage to Mary Domine. They lived at Jefferson, Wis. until 45 years ago, when they moved to Clark County, Wis. Mr. and Mrs. Beaver settled in what was then a wilderness, three and one-half miles southeast of the village, where they resided up to nine years ago when they moved to the village. On May 11, 1925, Mrs. Beaver passed away. Since that time the deceased has been living with his daughter, Mrs. Joe Wedl.

To this union were born 19 children, 7 daughters and 12 sons, seventeen of who grew to manhood and womanhood. Fourteen are now living who mourn the loss of their father. He was a man of great ability and was well respected by everyone that knew him. He will be greatly missed in the home circles and by his many friends and neighbors.

In 1922 Mr. and Mrs. Beaver celebrated their Golden Anniversary. All of their children were home for this event. The following are the manes: George Beaver, Granton; Mrs. Mike Duvall, Marshfield; Mrs. Peter Schmitz, Orcutt, Cal.; Mrs. Frank Bauer, Mrs. Joe Wedl, Mike, Nick, William, Frank, Edward, Phillip, Peter, Bernard and Matt, all of Loyal. He also leaves 51 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at St. Balthasar's Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 25th with High Mass, Rev. Joseph Stenz as Celebrant. He was laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery.

The following from away attended the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. George Beaver, Granton; Mr. Ed Beaver of Guttenberg, Iowa; Mr. George Beaver, Milwaukee; Mrs. Joseph Schuster, Milwaukee; Mrs. Paul May, Milwaukee; Mrs. Wm. Galloon, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Haffenberdl, Auburndale; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Beaver, Fairchild; Thresa Beaver, Fairchild; Mr. Simon Poeppel, Marshfield; Mr. John Hass, Marshfield; Mr. M. Schieffler, Sr., Hewett; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schoeffer, Hewett; Mr. Henry Platten, Guttenberg, Iowa.

The Tribune joins the many friends of the deceased in extending sympathy to the bereaved children.
