SPENCER -- The Spencer School Board will seek the legal advice before deciding
whether Josie Nowak, a Spencer High School junior, can graduate at the end of
this school year.
The majority of Board members appear to oppose Nowak's early-graduation request
during discussion at a meeting last week.
Since Nowak made the request last month, Board members had checked with area
school districts. Several districts allow mid-term graduations during the senior
year and others allow students to attend classes at the University of Wisconsin
Marshfield- Wood County Center.
